How to talk about yourself without cringing
'So, tell me about yourself.' The interview question everyone dreads. Here's a simple way to answer it like you mean it.

Talking about yourself can feel like showing off. But in an interview, it's literally the job. The good news? You don't need to be loud or cocky — you just need a plan.
Use present, past, future
Start with where you are now ('I'm finishing a course in…'), then something you've done that you're proud of ('Last summer I…'), then why you want this role ('That's why I'm excited about…'). Thirty to sixty seconds. Done.
Practise out loud
Saying it in your head doesn't count. Say it to a mate, your mirror or your phone's voice recorder. It'll feel awkward the first three times and natural by the tenth.
Facts, not hype
You don't have to call yourself 'amazing'. Just say what you did and let it speak. 'I trained two new starters at my last job' is confident without trying to be.
